Japanese Style Hardwood Platform Bed with Live Edge Headboard

Introducing our Japanese-style platform bed with hand-made wooden castle joints made from oak.

This bed is inspired by the traditional Japanese bed frame, which is an open rectangle with cross slats and corner legs to support a Tatami bed mattress. We have assembled this bed using authentic Japanese joinery techniques that rely on the joints themselves instead of screws or nails This ensures that the bed is sturdy, long-lasting and can be assembled and disassembled easily.

Our bed is made of 100% solid oak hardwood and finished with a two part hard wax finish. The frame and headboard are constructed live edge slab and framed in oak. Optional slab choices and design are welcome  

The inspiration for creating this bed came from our love for traditional Japanese furniture and the desire to bring it to modern homes. There is nothing like a traditional wooden bed frame with no sounds from metal or plastic and a one of a kind sturdy feel.
